ICRA 2011 Full-Day Workshop: Mechanisms for Surgical Robotics on May 9th, 2011

The IEEE ICRA 2011 Workshop on Mechanisms for Surgical Robotics will be held in Shanghai, China on 9th May 2011. This full-day workshop is to bring top researchers in the world on surgical robotics to present the cutting edge work on mechanisms for surgical robotics. Aimed at engineers, scientists and surgeons, the ICRA 2011 workshop will provide a state-of-the-art update on the current status of mechanisms and structure development of surgical robots in the world with keynote speeches from leading international experts from Europe (Italy, Spain and Germany), UK, USA, Canada, China, and Japan in this field and present the cutting edge work on mechanisms for surgical robotics. The workshop will provide a gathering ground for researchers with common interests in mechanisms for surgical robotics to share the most recent progresses and to discuss the future direction and leading edge.
The substantial debate will be given on obstacles and challenges and the future direction of robotic surgery and a platform will be provided for wider discussions and multidisciplinary collaboration between engineers and surgeons.
• Current status of surgical robot development in Europe and the world
