The 5^th Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics 2012, to be held at Royal Geographical Society in London on 1^st and 2^nd of July 2012.

Topics to be addressed by the symposium include, but are not limited to:

• Clinical highlights in Urology, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Orthopaedic, and Paediatric Surgery
• Flexible Robotics
• Emerging, multi-specialty applications of robotic technology
• Medical robotics for NOTES
• Mechatronic designs for medical robotics
• Microbot design and applications
• Surgical simulation, training and skills assessment
• Human robot interaction and ergonomics
• Surgical navigation and augmented reality systems
• Intra-operative imaging and biophotonics for robotic surgery
• Medical image computing and computer assisted intervention
• Economic and general consideration of robotic surgery

Workshops

As part of the Hamlyn Symposium 2012, there will be interactive and hands-on half day workshops/tutorials organised at the Hamlyn Centre, Imperial College London on Saturday, 30th of June and on Tuesday, 3^rd of July. The workshops will provide a great forum for academia, industries and governing bodies to exchange ideas, promote emerging research directions and present novel technologies in engineering and medicine.
